Our mission is to do our best to have all unclaimed, stray, surrendered, abandoned and neglected/abused animals in our custody adopted into new and loving “furr-ever” homes. These animals did not ask to be forgotten about, abandoned in the streets, or due to circumstances in a home to be given up. They deserve to live a full life with love and a caring family.We are here to make sure that happens!!!!
AHAR is not a shelter, and not open to the public. We do not have a public facility, all rescues are in foster homes or in our at-home rescue farm, and visits are made by appointment only.

Lysa was so kind and wants to help any animal she sees. My twin sister adopted her puppy from her last May, I adopted my pup from her in December and my older sister adopted her puppy from her in January. Definitely recommend if you can’t tell

We adopted Calypso - the love of our lives - from Lysa. It was clear Lysa loved Caly — and every other being on her property deeply. Lysa cares for animals from the depths of her soul and her work should be supported and applauded. I’d adopt from Lysa anytime and twice on Sunday. God bless this wonderful place and woman!!!
